Our Story
Born From the
Energy Industry
BitWatt was founded in Düsseldorf by former E.ON and Uniper professionals who saw firsthand how energy retailers struggled with complex, manual portfolio management processes. Spreadsheet-driven pricing, gut-feel hedging, and one-size-fits-all contract adjustments were the norm — even at some of Europe's largest suppliers.
We set out to change that. By combining deep energy market expertise with modern data science and cloud engineering, we built a platform that automates the calculations, surfaces the insights, and lets portfolio managers focus on strategy rather than spreadsheets.
Today, our software is used daily by European energy suppliers to acquire more profitable customers, hedge market risk intelligently, and adjust contracts with machine-learning precision.
